Tasting phase, during the barista section of the course

March 3, 2016.     For the 22nd of march we are going to have two activities in our coffee school in Florence: the Open day and the Jam session.
From 2pm to 6pm it’s our open day for whoever would like to come to practise milk foaming, latte art, to taste different coffee, read our coffee books and to feel the excitement of a real coffee lover! Our school is open twice at month, check it out here not to miss out on our appoitments.
From 6pm starts our “Jam Session”, an evening of experiments and tastings that we hold every month for free in our school.

THIS IS THE PROGRAM OF THIS JAM  SESSION EDITION:

Have you ever hear the word “cezve” or “ibrik”? Have you ever tasted a “Turkish coffee”? We will host Helena Oliviero, this year Italian champion of Turkish coffee, just back from the world championship in Dubai, that she will show us how to prepare it.
Is it important to grind coffee fresh before using it? What does it happen if the coffee has been grounded 1, 2 and 3 hours before?
What’s better? Metal or paper filter? We are going to try a traditional V60 with paper filter and a metal cone dripper from an Italian firm (and take a look to our brewing coffee course…)
Are you ready for an head to head latte art throwdown and lots of laughs? Who will it win?
And for dinner we can’t avoid a pizza taxi, after all that good coffee you cannot expect a good pizza too!!
